PUMA UNDFTD SUEDE MID「24K」
バスケットボールに代表されるアスリート や、BEASTIE BOYS を始め、様々なジャンルのアーティスト、サブカルチャーに 多大な影響を与えた名品「PUMA SUEDE」。 近年のプーマを代表するモデル「CLYDE」「STEPPER」と同様に、from the PUMA ARCHIVE と題し、ワールドワ イドなプロジェクトとして新たに登場したのが PUMA SUEDE MID である。 今作でUNDEFEATED は、見かけ倒しや外見だ けを取り繕ったキックスではなく、シンプルであるが故、他を寄せ付けぬ ラグジュアリー感を貫く一足を提案する。 アッパーマテリアルには、上質なスエード調の素材をあしらうことで 発色の良さが際立ち、PUMA BASKET 等に用いられる 若干厚めのミッドソールには、アッパーカラーと同色のステッチを縫い 合わせることで、全体の印象をうまくまとめている。 また、既存の PUMA SUEDE MID よりも低く改良された アンクル部分には、最近のトレンドカラーであり、今回のネーミングである「 24K = PURE GOLD」を彷彿 させる、ゴールドの「 5 STRIKES 」が鎮座している。 UNDEFEATED の考える「普遍価値を保ちつつ も常に進化を続けること」「控えめでいながらもラグジュアリーを クールに身に着けたいという人々の潜在的な欲求」を再認識させてくれ る一足に仕上がっていることに間違いはない。
The Puma Suede has been a staple of top basketball players and a well-known icon amidst various sub-cultures since brought onto the scene by the likes of the Beastie Boys. Like other classic models we have seen as of late such as the Clyde and the Stepper, the Puma Suede Mid II is the latest pair of retro-kicks to be resurrected on a worldwide level from the Puma Archive. For this collaboration we haven’t vamped up the shoe in to some crazy new form, but instead stuck with the philosophy that simple is best, and in that mindset have created a pair of truly luxurious kicks. Staying with the original suede upper material in bright colors and tacking on the slightly thick Puma Basket sole with a color-coordinated stitch the shoe exudes an overall balance and sense of equilibrium. To top it all off on the new and improved collar we’ve added our 5 strikes logo in shiny gold. These kicks are definitely on point with the UNDEFEATED credo of constant evolution while preserving timeless value.
